MTN Promotes Olivier to CEO, Wright to Executive Chairman

MTN Satellite Communications’ (MTN) board of directors has promoted President and COO Errol Olivier to President and CEO.
Prior to joining MTN, Olivier served as president and CEO of Broadpoint and president and COO of CapRock Communications. In a statement, MTN praised Olivier for pioneering the first commercial multi-tenant satellite telecommunication strategy for the oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico and said Olivier’s work, “revolutionized the way VSAT services were delivered to the offshore energy market.”
In addition, MTN announced that Board Chairman Joe Wright was promoted to Executive Chairman of the Board. Wright is currently a senior advisor at Providence Equity Partners and Chart Capital Partners. He previously served as chairman of Intelsat.
“While witnessing the tremendous growth by way of consolidation in the VSAT industry over the past year, MTN chose to remain focused on delivering service and innovative solutions to key markets,” Wright said in a statement.
